The first time we "see" David is in the 1850 Cherokee Co, NC census, with his wife, Jane, and sons David and Center.

There is also Adeline (20) and Federrek (80) in the household. Not sure who Adeline is at the moment....it's assumed Frederick is David's father.

He and Jane are still living in Cherokee Co, NC in 1860, but then he dies sometime before Dec. 19, 1866.

His heirs as noted in his estate records are: G.R. (Ransom) Ledford (Son? or husband of Eliza/Elizabeth Ledford?), Jason Ledford, Nancy Dulsean Ledford (as guardian for son, David's minor children), Center Ledford, Edmon Henson (husband of Lucinda).
